According to the head coach of Real Madrid ZinedineZidane, his club will have an extremely difficult task in trying to win the Spanish League as every other team are extra motivated when they face off with Real Madrid.
“We know that we can and should improve, always. For the teams who play against Real Madrid, it’s the game of the year. And that’s normal, it’s an extra motivation, it’s something we have to take into account. “It’s getting more difficult. They’re a very good opponent, well organized defensively. It’s good for us to play on Sunday, after the defeat on Wednesday, so we can try to put it behind us’’ ZinedineZidane said as he talked in a press conference after his team suffered a surprising 1-2 defeat against Valencia on February 22.
ZinedineZidane believes that every other team that is competing in the Spanish League are even more motivated than usual when it comes to playing with Real Madrid which can certainly be debatable as clubs are just as motivated when they have to play against Barcelona.
One of the other reasons of why Real Madrid might have a harder time trying to keep themselves in the top positions of the Spanish League is because they are sitting in a very comfortable spot in the Champions League after having defeated Napoli with a convincing scoreboard of 3-1 in their 1st leg.
Real Madrid are the huge favorites of finishing off Napoli in their 2nd leg and advancing into the quarter-finals which means that the team of ZinedineZidane will have a much more busy set of fixtures as they have to face off with further top class opponents in the Champions League as well as have to consistently win points in the Spanish League.
Barcelona on the other hand have to miracle 4 goal deficit comeback against PSG if they want to reach the quarter-finals and even though this is certainly bad news for the Spanish club, as they will have a much lighter and simple set of fixtures if they are eliminated from the early rounds of the Champions League.
